Johanna in Tulsa, Oklahoma: I've heard episode 13 "could" serve as a series finale of Battlestar Galactica. (Lords of Kobol, forbid!) What about the last frakkin' seven episodes? Any news?
I double-checked to be sure, but don't worry, you are definitely getting your final seven. BSG scribe Jane Espenson even told me she turned in an outline for episode 14 the day before the strike started. The full 20-episode order for Battlestar Galactica will be written, produced and aired. Now can I get a "Frak yeah," motherfrakkers?!
Spider in Cleveland, Ohio: I just read NBC has ordered six more episodes of Lipstick Jungle. What does this mean for the chances of Kim Raver coming back for more 24?
It means, uh, definitely…maybe? As Kim told my pal Michael Yo over on our satellite radio show Yo on E!: "It's really tricky right now, because I'm fully on Lipstick Jungle, and we're in New York City. You know, Kiefer and I have talked, and we kind of always keep talking, because we have a great time working together. So, anytime we can kind of collaborate again, I'm sure it will happen. We just have to work out our schedules." Cross your fingers!
Tara from Orange, California: The finale of Project Runway is coming! Is there anything you can tease about the final runway?
I just finished watching the runway show, and all I can say is "Dark!" The bright patterns Uli brought to Bryant Park last year are nowhere to be found with this year's finalists. Let's leave the outcome a surprise, but I can tell you one thing: There is no clear winner, so the final episode will be interesting to see! Like the show says, watch what happens!
Jenn in Conyers, Georgia: I'm an idiot. I just started watching Dexter, and I'm hooked—it's so good! It's so good, in fact, that I looked up all of your columns on the show and read in the very first article who the Ice-Truck Killer was! My fault, 'cause I knew better. Anyway, so I don't continue to frak myself, without revealing plot, and in honor of season one premiering blood-free on CBS, can you tell us when to expect it back and when season two will be on DVD? Any news about the show, and not what's happening in the show, will be much appreciated. Muchas gracias!

“I was horribly awkward, tall and scrawny, with frizzy, crazy hair and terrible acne. But it didn’t matter even remotely on stage: There, no one’s looking at your skin. I just spent a little extra time making sure everything was covered up.” — Elizabeth Mitchell, who portrays the enigmatic Dr. Juliet Burke on “Lost,” on how theater helped her weather an ugly-duckling adolescence.
“Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.” — Patrick Swayze’s physician Dr. George Fisher, commenting on the 55-year-old actor’s prognosis for battling pancreatic cancer.
“Is it less art because a black person opened their mouth and said it? It’s just casting. It’s an American play. We’re Americans.” — Anika Noni Rose, dismissing suggestions that the all-black cast of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” on Broadway is a gimmick or that Tennessee Williams’ play loses authenticity without a white cast. Rose stars alongside Terrence Howard and Phylicia Rashad in the production.
“He had the look and the type that people like, so he made pretty good money here.” — Gordy Bryan, manager of Dick’s Cabaret, a male strip club in Phoenix, commenting on “American Idol” contestant David Hernandez, who once worked as a stripper there.
“This election is about judgment. Yet tomorrow is perhaps one of the most important days of your life and you’ve chosen to spend the night before talking to me. Senator, as a host I’m delighted. As a citizen, I’m frightened.” — Jon Stewart, teasing Hillary Clinton for appearing on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” before crucial primaries in Ohio and Texas.
“It feels like we’re closer now than ever to having an openly gay contestant on the show. I’m not here to name any names, but I feel like there are some definite possibilities for this to happen this year. Do I think it’ll happen? I don’t know. I hope it does.” — Jim Verraros, who came out after his run as a finalist on the first season of “American Idol,” on speculation that some of the current “Idol” contestants are gay.

COMPILED FROM WIRE SERVICES
Spring training is normally a time for fans to meet their idols, but the tables were turned for Seattle Mariners pitcher Miguel Batista in Phoenix.
Batista, who plays the saxophone, went backstage at a Kenny G concert to meet his musical idol, then stayed for the show. At one point, Kenny G left the stage while playing and waded through the aisles before approaching Batista’s seat.
“Then he pauses from playing,” Batista said. “And he goes, ‘Thanks, guy, it was cool today.’ ”
It couldn’t get much better for Batista.
“Now, I feel like I’ve had everything,” he said. “I’ve talked pitching with Sandy Koufax, had Kenny G play for me. Maybe if I could have an interview with God, then I’d be served. I’d be complete.”
Jeer when they cheer
Performance-enhancing drugs have been in the news with baseball, football and track and field getting most of the headlines, but author Lisa Torgovnick says the drugs have popped up where least expected: In cheerleading.
Torgovnick has written a book entitled “Cheer!” which chronicles three teams on the way to the annual National Cheerleaders Association finals. In it, she writes that male cheerleaders bulk up on steroids so they can heft more weight.
And the substance abuse in cheerleading is not limited to males.
Flyers, under pressure to stay light — and maintain the usual unrealistic Barbie standards of beauty — take a pharmacy of drugs including, occasionally, cocaine, according to the book. Except for the cocaine, almost all this abuse is perfectly legitimate, since the NCAA rates cheerleading as an activity rather than a sport.
He’ll retire to stud
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, to GQ magazine, on his long-term goals: “I just want to be that guy who is 95 years old, who’s out there playing tennis, getting 29-year-old girls pregnant or, um, getting my 85-year-old wife pregnant.”
